Personality:

Amaya is...an extremely awkward individual. And that's before you even get to the part where she's half snake. She stutters, gets all flustered over the dumbest things, and just has a difficult time interacting with people in general. Truth be told, she never really learned how. Most people aren't exactly fond of monster-girls, and Amaya is one of them. A lamia, to be precise. Therefore, she spent nearly her entire life in solitude, only interacting with a very small number of individuals. Needless to say, she's not sure how to react to new people or situations with no experience to call upon. Not to say she isn't curious, it's just that her nervousness tends to overcome her most of the time. She also may or may not be scared of the dark.

While she may have led a reclusive, solitary life for the most part, Amaya has grown to be an extremely intelligent woman. She spent most of her years studying up on the world and what she believed she needed to know, as going to school would have been rather difficult given her species. Even if her kind were accepted among the norm, it's difficult to travel and fit in most places when your body is nearly thirty feet long. She's also picked up some cooking skills after much trial and error, and actually finds it very enjoyable. Amaya also tends to be a bit of a neat freak, almost to the point of OCD sometimes.

As Amaya has no shortage of spare time, she's picked up some hobbies over the years. Reading of course, is one of them. She loves nothing more than picking up a new book especially trashy romance novels and staying up all night to finish it. The rest of the time when she's not cooking or reading, she spends online on her laptop, gaming. Typically while lounging under a heat lamp. She's found the internet to be a wealth of knowledge...although she seems to think everything she reads on there is the truth, regardless if it really is or not.


History:

Amaya never knew her parents. She was abandoned as an infant. Luckily for her, not all humans despised allowing those of monstrous heritage to live in their society. An elderly man happened upon her and decided to take the poor snake girl in, rather than allowing her to die in some forsaken alleyway. And that was when Amaya received her name, in addition to her second chance at life.

The gentleman who took her in, Yuu, was actually a rather wealthy man. Needless to say his new adopted daughter was fairly spoiled. Most of his mansion was renovated to allow her to live in it as she grew, making her life considerably easier. She had only the best food, the newest electronics and books, and had his butler at her beck and call. She was even tutored by both Yuu himself, and his butler in addition to some online classes. Amaya enjoyed learning new things, although some of it confused or flustered her if she didn't understand it right away.

Unfortunately, most good things come to an end. Yuu's health began to fail when she was ten years old, and a year later Amaya found herself nearly alone again. All she had for company was her adoptive father's butler, Akio who surprisingly stuck around and continued to serve her as it was requested in Yuu's will. It wasn't long before Amaya discovered she'd been left the majority of the man's fortune as well. What did she use said fortune on? Keeping herself isolated from the vast majority of the world. Despite never almost never been outside most of her life, Amaya did read and watch the news, and so she was well aware of how human society thought of her kind. She decided it was best to keep to herself, using a combination of ordering online and sending out Akio for groceries to keep herself supplied.

Throughout her teens, and a portion of her adult life, she continued to confine herself to the mansion, only really going outside to soak in the sun or use the pool in the warmer months. With Akio's assistance, she really had a pretty good life set up for herself. Anything she needed, she only had to order or ask for, the mansion was already set for her to live in for the rest of her life, she had a fortune to draw upon for anything she required. The only thing she lacked really...was friends. She had a few people she chatted with online, but she'd never revealed the fact she was a lamia to them for fear of their reaction. She didn't want to frighten her only human contacts- assuming they were humans anyway. Akio's been insisting on setting her up on 'play dates', trying to invite people to the mansion to interact with the poor young woman.




Body and Appearance

Amaya 'stands' at about 5'4", but she measures in at about 29' from head to tail. Her build is fairly average, with her bust on the small side.

She tends to be slouch a lot when on her own, but when in the company of others, she's very tense.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

She's more or less fit, with no disabilities or illnesses to speak of.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

More on the graceful side, but when she's flustered, she tends towards clumsy.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?

Amaya is fairly cute, provided you don't mind most of her body being that of a snake's. She's very self-conscious about her appearance.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

On the pale side, which contrasts with her snake half.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.

Amaya's hair is black and she normally wears it up in a braid or a messy bun. It's smooth and soft to the touch. Definitely well cared for.

Hazel.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

Well, over 20' of her body is that of a very large, black & white snake. She also has a patch of black scales on either side of her hips, and a few scales like freckles on her chest.

Her shoulders.

More or less casual, but dressy? Mostly blouses, cardigans, and sweaters. Mostly lighter blues, purples, and pinks for colors.

Definitely, although she's always worried she'll slip out of her skirts,

She's unemployed.

On the high pitched side, but with a softness to it.

When in the company of others, she tends to speak fast and nervously. She's more on the hesitant side of things.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

She stutters when she's nervous. She also has a tendency to use 'text speak'. Like...G2G, GTFO, and the like.

Japanese and English, fluent in both.

Only if needed.

She definitely has to think on her words. Not that it helps when she's flustered.

Online? She tends to be eloquent and sometimes fancy sounding. In person? Not so much.

It's ALL book-smarts. Amaya is incredibly naive and has no street-smarts.

She typically needs time to think.

Logical and practical for the most part.

She's had the equivalent of a high-school education, with a smattering of online college courses in literature.

Literature, organization, finding good spots to bask in the sun. Honestly, she wants to learn a little about everything.

Introvert. Everything is safe and the way she likes it at home.

Typically, Amaya is laid-back and calm (unless she's cleaning), at least until she has to interact with people, in which case she's nervous and awkward and unsure.

A mixture of suspicious and timid. Amaya is not a fan of change.

Flight, definitely.

Her jokes are usually literature related and just...bad. She doesn't quite get most jokes. Please no pranking the already insecure snek.

Not really.

Amaya hasn't really had any 'defining' moments that she knows of. Unless being saved as an infant counts.

Mean people, being in the dark.

Amaya would like to make some friends in person one day.

She doesn't want her few online friends to know she's not human, and she certainly doesn't want anyone to find out she's terrified of the dark.

The closest she has to family is Akio.

It isn't so much that she has trouble getting along with people. She just doesn't know how to be social.

She thinks both are probably equally important.

Someone who doesn't mind that she's a lamia who'll enjoy her cooking. Also cuddling and reading.

No, and she's not sure.

Not really?

She'd probably be a 2.

Amaya is a virgin. She'd like to do it with someone she's close to.

Her tail is very sensitive. She might accidentally crush her partner in her coils, but hopefully not to a crippling degree.

Not really? She's kind of along the lines of 'treat others the way you want to be treated', but nothing really outstanding.

It depends entirely on the belief.

She's afraid of humans, as most don't see monster girls in a favorable light.

Amaya is very well off.

Practically non-existent. The public is just aware that the adopted daughter of Yuu took over his estate when he died.

A sort of fancy mansion with an outdoor pool. It's her fortress of solitude.

Books. Lots and lots of books. Also online gaming.

5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?

She's unemployed! Although she does take online classes about random things to pick up more knowledge. She'd like to have a more social life, but she isn't sure how to even start.

Reading, cooking, cleaning, MMOs.

Three meals a day, coffee in the morning, and an afternoon snack. Nothing bitter. Also, she's never had alcohol.
